We began working with Whitney when Susan’s mother (preceded in death by her father) passed not too long ago. Whitney helped us execute their estate and was professional and prompt, guiding us through each step of the process. She has since been assisting us in estate planning of our own and we have every confidence in her as our attorney and to give peace of mind to us and our loved ones.

Whitney has helped me with several trust and estate issues. From document preparation to helping a disabled client who was being scammed by other professionals. She is smart and takes the time to understand the client, their needs and how to resolve their problems. Whitney also works well with the client’s advisors to create estate plans. What a pleasant surprise to find a young yet experienced attorney here in Midland, Texas. My wife and I were looking for someone to help us with estate planning who would respond in a timely manner to our phone calls and emails. Whitney Ellis fits the bill. She is extremely professional, is up to date on all new developments in estate law and is very easy to talk to. She gives good advice based on her experience in dealing with other client families and often thinks of things that we would not have imagined might be a problem down the road. We were honored to join with Whitney Ellis to design our estate planning documents and Wills. With our medical income, Whitney navigated complex decision-making with malpractice protection and trusts. In spite of the fairly involved process, she made the challenging seem simple and prepared for many scenarios we would not have foreseen. Her staff was flexible, friendly, and thorough. We can fully recommend Whitney Ellis Law, PLLC to meet your needs, explain them effectively and efficiently, and do so in a timely and professional manner. We certainly would choose her again if our situation changed, or if we needed updates, and would expect the same wonderful experience.

We have used Whitney to help us with several legal matters over the years, including entity and estate planning for our family. We relied on her heavily to shepherd us through the estate planning process and she did so with grace, competence, and patience. She provided us with a myriad of options tailored to our needs and considerations, while unaffectedly guiding our decision making when necessary. She makes the unpleasant subject matter of estate planning more accessible by virtue of her own accessibly and forbearance. She has a keen understanding of her clients’ needs and the foresight to know how they may evolve overtime. I've had the pleasure of working with Whitney on three occasions, each involving different family matters. The first involved the probate proceedings of my mother's Will and estate. Whitney patiently and efficiently guided our family through the proceedings which resulted in a seamless and accurate transfer of the assets. Soon thereafter my wife and I had Whitney update and amend our personal Wills and corresponding estate planning. Again, her attention to detail and to the wishes of her client while advising us as to inheritance law and tax implications was outstanding. Whitney always answered questions and returned phone calls and emails in an extremely timely manner. Her expertise in estate planning was stellar.
Lastly, our family partnership utilized Whitney to amend our dated partnership agreement and more distinctly clarify certain provisions of the partnership. Once again Whitney's knowledge, patience and professionalism was more than ever expected. I have absolutely no reservation about continuing to work with Whitney in the future as it has been nothing but a fair, professional and wonderful experience.

Our experience working with Whitney was exceptional. Her knowledge and expertise allowed us to consider many things we’d previously not considered. With her direction, we were able to properly plan for those contingencies. We now have a plan in place for the “what happens if” scenario that no one expects! In 2019, I met Whitney as she was helping to assist my employer with estate planning. Initially, she helped me execute this large estate along with giving me quality references for appraisers, real estate agents, filing all the necessary with the courts and all the filings of probate to the many counties throughout Texas and New Mexico. Ever since then she has helped me settle an estate that has been quite complicated. We continue to find counties that I should have filed probate, and she has taken care of all of that.
A couple of years ago, a trustee passed away and I was asked to take over being trustee. Not knowing what to do, I called Whitney. Unfortunately, this was more time consuming than I thought it would be because the trust is an irrevocable trust. Letters signed by the beneficiaries and me. Once that was completed, she had to present to the judge for his signature. I thought I may have to make a trip to Midland, but she was able to take care of all that for me.
Whitney has been an absolute pleasure to work with each time on every matter. She is very easy to work with and is so knowledgeable in both estate planning and oil and gas entity planning. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
